Police Recover Over 300 Rustled Animals In Katsina
300 rustled livestock mostly cattle, goats and sheep have been recovered by the police in Kaduna State.
The animals which were rustled after bandits raided some villages in Safana, Kurfi and Dutsinma LGAs of the state between 17:00 and 20:00 on Saturday August 7, were recovered after a combined team of policemen and vigilante group were mobilised and blocked the bandits at their exit route into the forest between Dagarawa and Tsaskiya.
It was also learnt that they engaged the bandits in a fierce gun duel and recovered all the rustled animals.
Police spokesperson in the state, Gambo Isah confirmed the development and also disclosed that many of the bandits responsible for the attack fled with various bullet wounds.
Security operatives are still combing the area to arrest the fleeing bandits.
